Athletics: Resolve to Run the 2013 LA Marathon: Current Pricing Ends Jan. 15th

Join Thousands of Runners on Iconic, Fast 'Stadium to the Sea' Course; Price Deadline Early Next Week

LOS ANGELES, Calif.—Now is the time to make good on those New Year's Resolutions. For only a few more days, runners can sign up for the 2013 LA Marathon at current pricing – the cost of the race will increase $10 on Tuesday, January 15th. The LA Marathon is expected to draw a great field of runners from throughout Southern California, across the nation and around the world.

The LA Marathon, recently named Best Big City Race by Runner's World Magazine and Best Marathon in the West by the readers of Competitor Magazine, is one of the five largest marathons in the U.S. The 2013 race will be the fourth running of the wildly popular Stadium to the Sea course, which gives marathon runners a unique opportunity to see the beauty and diversity of Los Angeles while racing from Dodger Stadium to the Pacific Ocean, passing many of L.A.'s world-famous landmarks along the way.

Currently priced at $165, the cost of the race will increase to $175 on January 15th. The 2013 race will be held on Sunday, March 17th.

We have seen tremendous interest from the running community this year, with registration at an all-time high and totals significantly outpacing years past,” said Nick Curl, LA Marathon's Race Director. “Runners still have time to take advantage of discount pricing for another day, so if you are interested in racing this year, we strongly encourage you to sign up now and don't get left behind.”

January 15th also marks the cut-off date for two other race perks: seeded corral placement and personalized bibs. For more information, visit

We inspire athletes and connect communities. With thousands of volunteers, tens of thousands of participants, and hundreds of thousands of spectators, the LA Marathon is one of the largest organized road races in the country. The Stadium to the Sea course, which starts at Dodger Stadium and finishes by the Santa Monica Pier, is considered one of the most scenic in the world. The race has been named Best Big City Race by Runner's World and Best Marathon in the West by Competitor Magazine.
