Multisport: Polartec Partners with SUGOI for Fall 2013

Canadian bike and run brand to launch new collection made with Polartec technical fabrics

(Lawrence, Mass.) - Polartec, the developer, manufacturer, and marketer of Polartec® performance fabrics, announces a new partnership in technical fabrics for top Canadian bike and run apparel brand SUGOI. Designed and tested in the unforgiving conditions of British Columbia, SUGOI is launching a global line of outerwear and insulation pieces using Polartec technical fabric solutions for maximum athletic performance.

Made of a lightweight, drapable version of Polartec® NeoShell®, the most breathable waterproof fabric on the market, the RSE and RSX jackets are designed to be the world's driest, most breathable outerwear for wet weather cycling, featuring cycling-specific cuts for fit and function. The RSE, designed for road riding, and the RSX, designed for offroad riding, are fully waterproof and breathable thanks to NeoShell's unprecedented level of two-way air exchange, while remaining 99.9 percent windproof.

Made of Polartec® Power Shield® to provide superior lightweight protection from the elements and high breathability for thermal comfort, the RSR Power Shield® jacket and vest are new multisport winter performance soft shell pieces with a tailored fit. Polartec® Power Shield® protects against all but the worst weather conditions while delivering extended breathability, in most cases eliminating the need for an additional outer layer.

Made of Polartec® Power Stretch®, the RSR Race Top and RSR Race Tight are designed to be the ultimate pro-fit race top and bottom for next-to-skin comfort that moves with the body while providing protection from the elements. Polartec® Power Stretch® fabric enhances mobility, provides warmth without weight, and quick-drying performance for comfort.

"SUGOI products are designed and tested in an environment where the rain shows no mercy and the wind whips off the Pacific," says SUGOI Senior Technical Designer, Rob Gill. "This testing ground gives life and purpose to our products, and Polartec's technical fabric solutions perform in all seasons. The pinnacle pieces of the collection are the new RSE and RSX Polartec NeoShell jackets, which are the most breathable waterproof cycling products on the market."

"We are excited to not only have SUGOI adopting one of our latest award-winning technologies, Polartec NeoShell, but also some of our most dependable and versatile fabrics like Polartec Power Shield and Polartec Power Stretch," adds Allon Cohne, Polartec Global Marketing Director. "SUGOI has looked to us as a strategic technical partner and became the first cycling brand to build a premium collection using some of Polartec's most innovative technologies."
