Washington, D.C. -- February 14, 2013 -- Competitor Group, Inc. (CGI), the leading active lifestyle sports media and event entertainment company, has announced a new partnership with MedStar Health, based in Columbia, Maryland. MedStar Health will serve as the Official Medical Team of the 2013 Rock 'n' Roll USA Marathon & CareFirst Rock 'n' Roll USA Half Marathon, set to take place Saturday, March 16, 2013.

The race debuted in 2012 and will return with more than 25,000 runners, touring 13.1 or 26.2 miles through the heart of the nation's capital. Live bands mark each mile with motivating music, along with enthusiastic cheerleaders and thousands of spectators joining the fun.
The only marathon to run entirely in Washington, D.C., runners will experience downtown D.C., the city's quaint neighborhoods and historic sites such as Union Station and the National Mall with a view of the White House, and along the Anacostia River.
MedStar Health is the largest healthcare provider in Maryland and the Washington D.C., region, with 10 hospitals and thousands of physicians and associates serving patients. On race day, MedStar will staff medical stations along the race route and also provide medical supplies to runners.
