Athletics: Universal Sports Network Announces 2013 IAAF Diamond League U.S. Broadcast Schedule

10 Olympic and 14 World Champions Kick Off Season in Doha on Friday, May 10 - LIVE

Los Angeles (April 30, 2013) – Universal Sports Network, , the year-round destination for Olympic and endurance sports events, will provide live television and online coverage of the 2013 IAAF Diamond League season beginning with the season opener in Doha on Friday, May 10 from 12 to 2 PM ET LIVE. Universal Sports will air Diamond League events both on-air and online to authenticated users. Anyone who visits UniversalSports.com can enjoy video highlights, photos and breaking news.

Now entering its fourth season, the Diamond League consists of 14 invitation track and field meets on four continents featuring the world’s best athletes competing in 32 events. Traveling to Doha for the start to the outdoor season are American star sprinters Allyson Felix and Justin Gatlin who highlight a stellar lineup of Olympic talent including popular Jamaican sprinters Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce and Nesta Carter, American triple jump sensation Christian Taylor and Kenyan world-record holder David Rudisha.

This season’s North American stops include New York City on May 25 featuring Aries Merritt, Brittany Reese, Ryan Bailey and Tyson Gay racing in their home country. The Prefontaine Classic in Eugene, Oregon follows on June 1 featuring international stars Mariya Savinova, Pamela Jelimo and Rudisha. London is another “can’t miss” meet on July 26 to 27 when the world’s fastest man, Usain Bolt, is scheduled to make his return to The Olympic Stadium one year after winning three medals at the summer games.
