Track A Runner on Facebook, Twitter and Mobile Devices during May 19 Event
QUANTICO, VA (May 8, 2013) - Participants and spectators can track a runner's progress immediately while on Facebook or Twitter, or choose to obtain continuous updates via email or mobile text messaging during the Marine Corps Historic Half on Sunday, May 19 in Fredericksburg, VA. The Historic Half "Track A Runner" program is offered free of charge and presented by Hyundai Hope On Wheels. Register online to track a half marathon participant at MarineMarathon.com.
Proud family and friends located anywhere can follow a Historic Half runner as they move over the 5K, 10K, 15K, 20K splits and across the finish line throughout the 13.1 mile half marathon course by receiving text messages or email updates. Runners also can register pre-race to post on their Facebook timeline, or tweet over a Twitter feed, their own progress while running the course. Runners and spectators can register to Track A Runner through Saturday, May 18, the day before the Historic Half.

"Family and friends who cannot attend the Historic Half can join in the excitement over these social networks."
Nearly 8,000 participants will run the scenic Marine Corps Historic Half now celebrating its sixth year in the City of Fredericksburg. Limited registration to run the Historic Half, Historic 10K or Semper Fred 5K is available at MarineMarathon.com.
Historic Half runner tracking is sponsored by the University of Mary Washington, the Free Lance-Star and the National Association of Uniformed Services. All Historic Half finisher race-day results will be immediately available on the results page of the website.
