MCM10K Presented by Aetna will run in conjunction with the 38th Marine Corps Marathon
QUANTICO, VA (Sept. 19, 2013) - The MCM10K presented by Aetna has filled all 10,000 available entries for the sixth consecutive year. The MCM10K annually held in conjunction with the Marine Corps Marathon (MCM), starts amid beautiful landscape on the National Mall in Washington, D.C., runs across the Potomac and finishes at the iconic Marine Corps War Memorial. The MCM10K will be held on Sunday, Oct. 27.
MCM10K participants will arrive at the nation's capital from 23 countries, 49 states and locally, from the District of Columbia. Over 63 percent of this year's participants are women with more than 1,500 runners being military members from every branch of the Armed Forces. Twenty-five Special Olympians also will participate this year.
MCM10K runners not only share the excitement of MCM Weekend from Oct. 24-27, they also receive the commemorative runner's bib with B-tag timing, the mock neck participant shirt, finishers medal, finisher certificate, official event program, results and timing, UPS baggage service, entertainment, hospitality and the MCM recovery jacket.
On event morning, the MCM10K starts at 7:55 a.m. on 12th and Madison Drive, in front of the National Museum of American History. Runners should take the Smithsonian Metro to the MCM10K start via the blue line.
Once crossing the MCM10K Finish at the Marine Corps War Memorial in Rosslyn, VA, participants will receive their finisher medals from U.S. Marines, and then proudly pose for pictures with MarathonFoto.
