The Ottawa Athletic Club Racing Team was founded in 1981 as a road racing club. Today it has evolved into a women's road racing team and triathlon/duathlon club.
The prime focus of the OAC Racing Team continues to be the provision of coaching, facilities and the group environment for the development of women runners and triathletes/duathletes.
Through the sponsorship of the Ottawa Athletic Club at 2525 Lancaster Road, the Racing Team has access to the facilities of the OAC which includes an indoor track, complete weight facilities, indoor and outdoor pools, wind trainers and treadmills.
The club has group training sessions on Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 5:30 to 7:30. From November to Decemberl the club meets at the Ottawa Athletic Club at 2525 Lancaster Road, from January to the end of April the club trains at the Louis Riel Dome on Bearvrook Road in Blackburn Hamlet. From May to October the club meets at Rockcliffe Park on Tuesday and the Terry Fox Track at Mooney's Bay on Thursday, at 5:30 both days.
The club is now accepting a limited number of applications for membership from female road runners and triathletes/duathletes who are looking for a group training environment and who either have run a sub 20:00 5K or have the potential to do so with training.
